CHESTER (MICK) MISKOWIEC

Mick was born in De Pue, Illinois. He was the son of Paul and Rosezella Miskowiec. He served in the United State Marines, Pacific Area from October 1942 to April 1944. While in the Marines, Mick met and married Joanna. The couple had three children, Mick, Jr., Teresa and Katya. He was discharged from the Marines on October 11, 1945. The family made their home in Corvallis where he started Mick’s Glass Service in 1957. He was married to his wife Joanna for 54 cherished years. Mick was a long time member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. After Joanna’s death in 1998, Mick married Elsie and they were married for 10 precious years. He enjoyed duck hunting in his leisure time and will be remembered for his kind heart and good sense of humor.

Preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joanna; his daughter Katya and his son Mick, Jr. Survivors include his wife, Elsie; daughter Teresa; grandsons Victor Miskowiec and Mark Miskowiec.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, October 23rd at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Corvallis, Father John Henderson will officiate. The family requests memorial donations in Mick’s name be directed to Benton Hospice Service in care of McHenry Funeral Home in recognition of the loving care that Mick received in his final days.
