About Our Council
From the very beginning, our Council has provided important services to our parish and community. This is a brief summary of these activities, projects and programs. Dozens of Knights are involved in every aspect of all Church Ministries from Hospitality, Eucharist, Eucharistic Adoration Support, to RCIA and visiting the sick in local hospitals. Council members provided essential traffic control before and after Masses on Christmas and Easter.
Council Community programs include the thrice-yearly clean-up and improvement of the historic cemetery located adjacent to the Church property. The Council also hosts a semi-annual blood drive, an annual e-waste collection and the successful annual “Tootsie Roll Campaign” gathering donations from the community and parishioners in support ARC of San Diego serving those with intellectual disabilities. The Council has also provided support for St. Joseph’s Table and Brother Benno’s Kitchen providing meals to homeless in our county. The Council also offered support to the USO by providing all the ingredients for dinner for returning Military at Thanksgiving, as well as supporting a U.S.
Members of the Council serve as volunteer members of the San Diego Police Department. These volunteer officers are many times first responders to assist in emergencies. In fact, two of these officers have been recognized by the Chief of Police as Volunteers of the Year.
Every Knight in the Council has contributed in his own way. Works of CHARITY is our goal, accomplished thru UNITY and FRATERNITY under the umbrella of PATRIOTISM.
