Daniel John Pierce, age 75, of Dale City passed away peacefully on March 14, 2018. Daniel was born to the late Charles and Ruth Pierce in Washington DC on October 30, 1942. After serving our country in the US Navy, Daniel continued his service as a civilian working for the Navy for 50 years. Daniel is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Catherine "Cathy" (Downer) Pierce; cherished daughters, Heather (Damian) Breland, and Jennifer (Jay) Jordan; and his five dear grandchildren, Colin, Pierce, Tyler, Summer, Hope; and beloved brothers, Donald (Christine) Pierce, and Joseph Timothy Pierce. Daniel joins in rest his brother, Charles "Dicky", who predeceased him.
Daniel was a devout Catholic and longtime active member of both Holy Family Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus in the third and fourth degree. One of Danny's many gifts was that he never met a stranger, he was everybody's friend. He was an avid sports fan of the Redskins and Nationals, loved woodworking, gardening, and most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren.
The family will receive guests on Sunday, March 18, 2018 at Mountcastle Turch Funeral Home 4143 Dale Blvd. Dale City, VA 22192 from 2-4 PM, and 6-8 PM. The funeral mass will be held on Monday, March 19, 2018 at 10:30 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church 14160 Ferndale Rd, Woodbridge, VA 22193. Internment to follow at Quantico National Cemetery. |
