WILLIAM HERMAN

 

William "Bill" Herman passed away peacefully June 25th surrounded in love by his beloved wife Barbara, loving daughter Lisa, son-in-law Alan Yefsky and cherished granddaughters Marissa and Jenna Yefsky.

He was preceded in death by his beautiful daughter Susan and his dear brother James (the late Hazel) Herman. Bill leaves behind his dear brother-in-law Kenneth (Pamela) Feldman. He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews in Arizona and Indiana. Bill was born in Menominee, Michigan and lived in Marinette, Wisconsin until age 5 when his family moved to Chicago. He graduated Roosevelt High School and earned his AA from College of DuPage. He joined the Naval Reserves and was called to active duty in 1961.

Returning from service he raised his family in Addison and moved to Buffalo Grove in 2001. He was a Wood Patternmaker before being trained as a teacher on CNC Milling Machines for General Motors. He went on to work at Bridgeport Machines as a salesman and trainer. After retirement Bill worked as a Retail Merchandiser for Procter & Gamble. Bill is a past Grand Knight of the Addison Knights of Columbus (Damen Hildenbrand). He served on the Board of Directors of Driscoll Catholic High School and was an active member of the Addison Community Council.

Visitation will be 10 to 11 A.M, July 9th, with Mass immediately following at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 75 N. Buffalo Grove Road, Buffalo Grove, IL 847-541-1450. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, donations to Misericordia (misericordia.com) or charity of your choice.
