My initial introduction to Joe DeMarco began seven years ago when it became obvious that my parents, Eugene and Pauline Slane, were going to need assistance and long term care.
I had heard Dad praise Joe in the past calling him a “good guy” and indicating that he had complete trust in him. I also know that Dad encouraged other Knights in his Council to investigate the Knights’ various offerings with Joe.
That initial meeting with Joe and Dad to monetize some of Dad’s annuities resulted in a long term relationship with Joe that proved to be invaluable to me.
Over the last seven years, Joe has helped me navigate paperwork, understand unfamiliar terminology, and answered my numerous questions promptly and professionally.
Joe has been there for our family, not only in his official capacity, but also offering emotional and prayerful support. He made several personal calls to Dad over the years that were very much appreciated.
Both parents have now passed; Dad in September of 2020 and Mom more recently in August of this year.
As I have indicated to Joe many times, he has been a blessing to our family.

Joe DeMarco has been a blessing to me and my family since 2007. My parents bought life insurance from the K of C which has been a great help as we’ve gone through the ups and downs of life.

I met Joe when my Dad passed away in 2012. My mom was distraught over the loss of her husband of 60 years, and Joe was patient, kind and extremely helpful in assisting her in submitting her life insurance claims and answering all our questions.

A couple of years later, Mom began to exhibit signs of memory loss and I took over her financial affairs. Joe was again a tremendous help to me as he patiently explained what kind of policy she had and how it worked. He made sure address changes were complete after I moved her from Florida to California to be near me.

I’ve spoken with him many times over the intervening years and he’s always available to answer questions and direct me to the help I need if he can’t provide it himself. Mom died in August 2022, and once again Joe was considerate, compassionate and went the extra mile to help me sort out her affairs. He even filled out the basic forms and sent them to me to finish and sign, which saved lots of time and anxiety.

I can’t recommend Joe highly enough to anyone considering buying life insurance or other products from Knights of Columbus. He is the soul of compassion, a true professional, and an all-around great human being. He is so much more than a salesman: he is a problem-solver and a companion on the path of life which we all need when life transitions happen.

Thank you Joe and blessings to you and yours for all you’ve done for us.

All my best,

Hi Joe
Just an update on my parents Gene & Pauline Slane.
My sister and I are moving them to Cleveland on Monday.
My husband and I will be back down later to arrange moving their belongings. I don't know for sure if my dad needs more money in the account.
Right now Janice and I are handling expenses.
Thanks for all you have done for our parents; you have been a blessing to our family.
Judi and Janice.

Our Dad age 94 received a form 1099R from the K of C to file his 2019 Federal Income taxes.

After filing and paying his 2019 taxes, he noticed the significant amount in taxes he paid in 2019 compared to 2018. Following some investigation, we learned that the 1099R was related to a life insurance policy that was surrendered in 2019.

We reached out to his agent Joe DeMarco who had originally provided the surrender value which provided input for our decision to surrender this policy.

Through his due diligence, Joe discovered that the surrender value of this policy was actually less than the accumulated premiums paid. And through his follow up with multiple departments over several days, it was agreed that an error had occurred resulting in new 1099Rs to be sent to Dad and to the IRS.

This will allow Dad to file an amended return which will result in a substantial refund of his 2019 taxes that he previously paid.

Our family is very thankful to have Joe DeMarco as a caring and dedicated field agent who took immediate action to get Dad’s 1099R issue resolved.

Sincerely,

Hi Joe , I wanted to let you know that I received the check from Met Life today.

I can't thank you enough for your over-the-top help on both policies!!! I'm sure it would have been at least another month or two before I would have received anything following the path I was on.

I was with Sandy Gross last night and told her how wonderful you had been to me and asked her to pass that onto Bob. She said she would be happy to do so.

God Bless You, Carol Koontz

Four days before Christmas my husband, Charles, had a sudden stroke with massive bleeding in the brain. There was nothing that could be done to save him. Once the family arrived the next day we had to remove him from life support. As we had been married for over 51 years, I was in shock and utterly devastated.

Joe DeMarco was at my home the very next morning. "How can I help" was so very much appreciated. He contacted insurance companies (even though they weren't the insurance company he offered). He contacted pension representatives, etc. and represented the very best of the K of C "Catholic difference". Afterward whenever I needed help he was there for us.

I strongly suggest you meet Joe and allow him to demonstrate his commitment to the K of C values. I was so glad he wasn't a stranger at such a terrible time in my life. I thank God for him and for the Knights for instilling his willingness to be of such service.

Joe,
Your dedication to your mission of assisting Knights and their families . . . exceptional!

Your product may be forms of insurance and investments but your heart, your soul and your mission in life are obviously the most important of your work.

I admire your determination to 'be there' when you are needed and the multitude of services you provide to both the living and the deceased.

In short Joe - I'm glad you are there for Pauline and me when our need arises.

"I can think of no more effective agent in advancing our freedom to live as we choose than the insurance salesman. This man knows the economic pulse of the country as few men may, for he walks all streets of American life and he sits down and talks to the youth and to the mature and to the aged. He knows their wants. He helps them to help themselves in time of need. He builds, for he helps others to build. He insures the future. He is respected. And he is a friend."
