Helping Hand Drivers Needed

We pickup food for Helping Hand 7 times each week and need more drivers to fill in on days when we have someone out of town or there is a conflicting appointment.

You can choose to help out just 1 or 2 days each month. The more drivers we have the easier it will be to fill in the schedule when one of our regular drivers is out of town.

It takes about 60-90 minutes to complete the trip. Helping Hand has a van that you can use if needed.

You will need to lift some boxes that weigh as much as 60 pounds. Most are much lighter.

Here are the locations we go to now:

Lowe’s Food - Carolina Forest
Monday, Tuesday & Thursday

Food Lion - Forestbrook
Wednesday & Friday

Walmart - Market Commons
Tuesday & Thursday

With 2 pickup locations on Tuesdays and Thursdays we usually need a fill in at least 1 or 2 times each month on these days.

Please call or email Brother John Peters if you are interested.

Faith In Action Programs

All Knights should be familiar with the Faith in Action Programs prescribed by Supreme for all councils. What do you know about these programs? Please use the link here to browse and review these important activities. Our council must schedule, plan, and implement some of these programs as they are required by Supreme for all councils.

Becoming familiar with the Faith In Action Program is important for all members because:

  • you need to be able to communicate with others about the different programs and their purpose and goals
  • our council needs members to step forward who have a special interest or talent which they can offer to the success of these types of activities
  • it is suggested that you find a friend within the council who has a similar interest and agree to chair or join a committee together
  • it is a wonderful way for our members to serve our church, families, and community
  • these are things that we all really have in common with each other

Please contact the GK , Tom McElligott, Frank Ferrero, or Mark Mizzer if you have questions or comments about these programs. Let us know if you have a special interest or talent that you would like to share with our council to help us move forward in this endeavor.

New Meeting Agenda

Some months ago, Supreme introduced a new agenda for the council's regular membership meetings.

Supreme held a webinar where this agenda and the new Membership Meeting agenda were discussed.  You can go to the Supreme website, click (here) on the "For Members" link and scroll down to find all of the information on the new guidelines as well as the webinar.

Members can access a copy via the Council Documents Library (Go to Members Only, Council Documents Library). A go-to link cannot be provided here as it requires a member login and password.

Look closely at the other documents listed in the Council Documents Library. Information related to both new agendas; Council Meetings & Officers' Meetings are available, along with New Guidelines: Questions & Answers and the KofC Protocol Handbook.
