For: Prayers Requested for our Sister-In-Christ - Alicia Silvino-Trevino - Breast Cancer

Dear Prayer Warriors,
URGENT PRAYERS REQUESTED!!

Yes...Our Cup Runneth Over. Recently, we have been offering prayers for many among us...and, yes...
we have been asked to offer even more. I received the following message from Alicia Silvino-Trevino over the Holy
Week, when the Church was closed to meetings on our usual Friday meetings.
*************************************************************************************************************************
"Hello Velma, This is Alicia, and I would like to know if I can have a blanket (Lapghan)that your group Crochets.
I have Breast Cancer and need support to get through this life experience.
Please let me know if I can receive one. Alicia"
**************************************************************************************************************************
I answered with an immediate YES!! I let Alicia know that I would start my prayers for her, and would check for a
Lapghan, in the colors she like. I also promised that I would ask our Prayer Warriors to join me, in prayer, for her and
for her family.
***********************************************************************************************************************
Update: Alicia texted me, that she, now, has a date, for her Surgery. It will be on April 18.
She says: "I NEED ALL THE PRAYERS I CAN GET, IN LETTING MY CHILDREN KNOW THAT I HAVE BREAST
CANCER.
THIS WILL BE A DIFFICULT CONVERSATION FOR MY KIDS, BUT I WOULD'NT BE ABLE TO
HIDE MY ILLNESS.
THANK YOU FOR ALWAYS HELPING ME WITH GENUINE SUPPORT AND CARE. ALICIA"

"Good morning, Velma. I'm calling upon you and our Saint Mark prayer warriors to please pray for my brother-in-law,
Ken Maes. He's suffering from congestive heart failure and the doctors can do no more. The doctors call it "end of life".
Ken has asked to be moved out of the hospital and into hospice at home. His wife, Pat, also needs prayers for strength
and peace of mind. Ken is my husband's older brother and the last surviving brother besides my husband.
Thank you for all you do, my sister in Christ, Velma.
Blessings to all,
Diane Maes

For: Update On Bill Cox

Dear ACTS Community,

There have been so many people praying for and inquiring about Bill Cox's hospitalization. I am so grateful that our brother, Mike Pattillo, was gracious enough to share the following update with us:

"Our dear friend and spiritual leader, Bill Cox, after a very challenging few days fighting sepsis and near death is showing us the power of faith and prayer.
Early this morning Bill was able to recognize and acknowledge the medical staff’s directions. His sepsis has dropped from 3 to 1. Among other improvements, his nurse intimated that things are looking much better and he could possibly be off the intubation soon.
Bill has a ways to go, but with continued prayers, we hope to once again be fed by his beautiful spiritual writings."

As you might remember, last September, our dear ACTS brother, Leo Forget, underwent surgery to remove a cancerous kidney, ureter and part of his bladder. Well today, Leo's wife, Nancy, sent us this follow up message of thanksgiving. Please read:

"Hey Marty, this is a message of thanksgiving!
We got news of results of Leo’s CAT scan, reporting no cancer present. Praise God!
Faith speaks softly in our lives, with patience and trust that ‘All the time’ God is listening.
Leo will continue his treatments for 2-3 months longer. If you know him, you know that he has and will push forward daily to serve God.

Thanksgiving for all the prayers and love from our faith community for this intention,"

Chemo treatments, stem cell, and platelet treatments. I would like to present him with one of the Crochet Blankets from your

For: 3/20/24: Urgent Request from Deacon Steve and Marilyn Marques for their Beloved Son, Chris Marques -Facing Double Surgery

I received a phone call this afternoon, requesting urgent prayers, from Deacon Steve Marques. He and Chris's mom, Marilyn,
are in need of our prayers for their Son, Chris. Christopher (Chris) has been scheduled for double surgery. His doctors
are testing Chris for what procedures they will need to use.

Deacon Steve will update us, as soon as the decisions are made. So, at this time, I ask that we would just send up our prayers
to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, for Chris's healing. I believe that Jesus, his Mother, Mary, and all the Angels and Saints
have gathered near to Chris and his family, and are watching over them. We ask for Comfort, Faith, and the power of prayer,
for this family and all who know and love Chris. Deacon Steve and his family are longtime members of our St. Mark's family.
Let us hold them up, as they have held us up, over the years. Some of you may have known this family much longer that I have,
but they have always been a beacon of light, in my time at St. Mark's, and we have worked on many beautiful ministries and
fundraisers together, for the good of the church, and all who have been in need.

Anyway I’m in pt now and will probably be sent home Friday with a pt person coming to my house. In addition to prayers I might need meals brought to me. I wasn’t sure who to text for this. Please let me know or just transfer this text to the person who is responsible for meals and she can text me directly. Thank you so much for your assistance.

For: Will Hogan Shares About His Sister, Patti

Will Hogan has some very good news about his sister, Patti. As you might remember, she attended her ACTS Retreat at St. Mark's but lives in Austin. A few weeks ago she underwent surgery to remove a tumor. The family had a great fear that the growth might be malignant.

Well today, Will sent a follow up message sharing that Patti's tests came back showing her tumor was benign. Praise God! Thank You God!

Will wanted me to pass his family's gratitude to our St. Mark's community for all their prayers.

Will says: "All is good. I love you all."
